Orange Soda Wings are a favorite of the #bangbangflavorgang - the tangy citrus is mouth wateringly delicous.
INGREDIENTS:
3-4 pounds chicken wings
1¾ cup Crush Orange Soda
Juice from ½ orange
Zest from 1 orange
2 tbsp “PitMaster Privilege”
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp pepper
¾ cup sugar
3 cloves crushed garlic
1 tbsp FYR GLD
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp soy sauce
RECIPE:
Take your chicken wings and marinate them in my “Pitmaster Privilege - All Purpose BBQ Blend”, ¼ cup Crush Orange Soda, juice from ½ orange, 2 tbsp olive oil and 2 tbsp black pepper. Let them marinate for at least 3 hours.
Place wings on grill heated to 350 degrees and let them cook for 30 minutes. While wings cook, we will make our sauce.
In a small saucepan combine remaining 1½ cups Orange Crush Soda, ¾ cup sugar, 3 cloves crushed garlic, 1 tbsp FRY GLD, 1 tbsp butter and 1 tbsp soy sauce over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and allow it to reduce by half (Additionally, if you want it sticky, add 1 tbsp water/cornstarch slurry to the mixture). Once reduced, remove from heat, and set aside.
After 30 minutes , flip your wings so they cook evenly and crisp on both sides. Let them cook for about 20 more minutes or until they are cooked to your liking.
Remove the wings from the grill and toss them in the sauce.
Serve immediately.
