Coca Cola Ribs

These Coca Cola ribs are perfect for a backyard BBQ. The soda makes the meat super sweet and brings a flavor of childhood for you (and your guests) to enjoy.


INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 rack of ribs

  • Salt and Pepper rub (Equal parts kosher salt and coarse black pepper

  • 2 liters coca cola

  • 1 cup coca cola

  • ½ cup ketchup

  • ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce

  • ¼ cup honey

  • 2 tbsp salt

  • 2 tbsp black pepper

  • 2 tbsp garlic powder

  • 2 tbsp onion powder

RECIPE:

  1. Remove membrane from back side of your ribs. Place in a foil pan, bone side up and pour in 2 liters coca cola. Let marinate 6 hours minimum but preferably overnight.

  2. After marinating, remove the ribs from the coca cola and pat dry. Season with salt and pepper rub.

  3. Preheat smoker to 275. Place ribs on smoker and let cook undisturbed for 3.5 hours.

  4. While ribs smoke, combine 1 cup coca cola, ½ cup ketchup, ¼ Worcestershire sauce, ¼ cup honey, 2 tbsp salt, 2 tbsp black, 2 tbsp garlic powder and 2 tbsp onion powder in a small saucepan. Bring to simmer and let cook for 10 minutes until reduced. Remove from heat and set aside.

  5. After 3.5 hours, ribs should be getting close. Glaze ribs with coca cola sauce, and let cook for 15 minutes. Glaze and cook for 15 more. Ribs should be done after about 4 hours or so when internal temp is between 198 and 202 degrees F.
